I took some cold medicine about 40 hours before an EtG test. Is this going to show up on the test.

It's doubtful that it would show up after 40 hours. Cold medicine is usually 10% alcohol. Even if you had a couple of doses the alcohol would amount to about half a drink and while EtG would result it should clear your system in about 20 hours. Probably less.
