Can anyone identify a Hallmark on a squash blossum necklace.
It's marked STERLING with a snail above that word...

Here's a link that may help. It has pictures of many of the hallmarks they discuss. Seeing as you actually have the piece in front of you and can look at the hallmark, you would have better luck choosing which one it resembles.

If you can, post a picture. That would definitely help in identifying the hallmark. :)

Hmm. I've never seen a hallmark like that.

Was this given to you or did you buy it?

Have you tried taking it to a jeweler? That would probably be my next step. They can look at the whole piece and the hallmark.

You could also try the library. I'm sure there are many books with all the hallmarks available. A bit of work for sure, but worth it if you really want to know.

Just to guess I'd say it's sterling silver, but the hallmark itself, I have no idea.

Sorry, I wish I could be more help.

I'll try searching. If I find anything I'll post it here.

I bought this piece about 10 yrs ago but was given no info on it. I found a similar piece for sale at rubylane.com but the seller doesn't know the hallmark either. I'm trying to sell this now but wanted to know more about the maker to get a value.
