I assume you are talking about supplemetary earthing and bonding of your plumbing.
You should check your local electrical regulations in your county. If you are not sure call in your local electrical person.
For the UK (should be similar in USA)...
You should have a main earth bar in your fusebox (panel).
You can run an earth cable from fusebox earth out to the cold copper pipe in your kitchen sink and bond it to the pipe so it is earthed (Use 6mm earth cable and put an earth tag on it).
Another earth cable from fusebox earth out to the electric shower copper pipe in the bathroom, and bond it to the pipe so it is earthed. (Use 6mm earth cable and put an earth tag on it).
You should also bond all your cold and hot water pipes together with a 6mm earth wire bond and tag under all sinks and baths.
For safety... Electric showers should also have a 30mA RCD trip unit to power the shower, which will trip if an earth leakage current is detected.
Current rating of this unit will depend on the wattage of the shower.

For a residence here in the U.S. the NEC requires the bonding of the Equipment Grounding Conductor to a point within 5' of the "Metal" water pipe, where it enters the building. The metal water pipe has to extend 10' into the ground.
You are also required to have a supplemental grounding system by way of ground rods.
There are also several other methods to set up a grounding system.
At the Main Service Panel, you must use the "Main Bonding Jumper" to create the grounding conductor to Bond to the Neutral (or grounded conductor from the power company.)
From the Main service panel to subpanel, you use a 4 wire feeder.
2 hots, 1 neutral and one ground.
At the subpanel, Neutral and Ground must be isolated from each other so do not use a main bonding jumper sat the subpanel.
If the subpanel is in the same building, you do not need a supplemental grounding system. If the subpanel is in a remote building, you have to set up a supplemental grounding system.
