Deploying soon need help on options on breaking my lease
A written contract is hard to break. But talk to the landlord nicely. Put your feet in their shoes. They should also put their feet in your shoes to understand your deployment obligation.
If I'm either the landlord or you, the compromised offer should be to continue paying the lease until the landlord finds a new tenant. In good faith, the landlord should actively seeking new tenants while you're being deployed.
If you are military, then you have no worries. All you need to do is present your landlord with a copy of your orders or a letter from your commanding officer and federal law requires that you be let out of the leas. You will have to give proper notice under the SCRA and will be responsible for the rent until the end of the notice period.
