Squeaky Frigidaire dryer and GE the same?
After reading the posts where applguy helped so many people with their squealing Frigidaire dryers, I'm wondering if the same instructions would work on a GE. My dryer has the same symptoms. Any one know if the insides of these two dryers are similar?

Dryers aren't identical but most are very, very similar on the inside. They all have an electric motor that rotates a drum via a flat fan belt. There are wheels or roller keeping the drum in place. There is also some mechanism that keeps the fan belt tight, a tensioner. The wheels and tensioner are the source of 95% of all the squeeks, so yes the instruction would apply to your machine.

Following info on this site, I had a GE dryer doing the squeaking thing, and the stuff here was right on... it was the rear drum bearing. In my case, I ordered the part for it, $15. Easy stuff, and while I wait, I lubed it up, and it fixed the problem, but I'm assuming that will go away soon enough. Good luck!
