My husband and I got married in Las Vegas 24 years ago. We have 3 teens, ages 20,18,&14. We own 3 properties together. My husband has had several affairs throughout these years, and I am sick of it! I've only stayed with him because of our children & financial stability. Unfortunately, we've noticed several changes in the past 5 months, including financial stress, his behavior and he's been spending on himself. For example, he's recently signed up for the gym, watched his diet, bought a whole new (expensive) wardrobe, yet has come short on the bills. Why does he care so much about his appearance all of a sudden. My children and I have all caught him acting shady, and I'm worried about the consequences it will bring upon them. If I was to walk out on him soon, and take the children what would the legal consequences be? Would I still have the rights to our properties and/or home? /:

What exactly was your first hint ? You name several that put up red flags. I would suggest do not pass go, and get a lawyer to explain your rights. Legal rights are determined by the state you live in and circumstances, which are many.

That was what you asked eight months ago. Are you still thinking about separation or have you walked out already?

To answer the question, whether you do so would not significantly affect your property rights.
