I was involved in an accident that a women ran a blinking yellow light and I was going through the intersection with a green light and she hit another car and that car hit mine. I was not insured and she is. Police report was made and she claimed fault. I did not tell the police I didn't have insurance at the time. I now need to speak with them. What is my right to have the damage repaired on my car and what will happen to me since I had no insurance.

You may want to remain quiet... and not try and claim because you can still be charged for uninsured driving. That can carry jail time in some states.

Incidentally... based on what you said she WASN'T at fault...

By the motor vehicle codes... a flashing RED light is treated like a stop sign... A flashing yellow doesn't REQUIRE them to stop... only slow down and proceed with caution. The OTHER people would have the flashing Red.

If anyone crossed in front of her( she has the flashing yellow you said) from a cross street THEY were the ones who violated her right of way because THEY had a flashing red and were required to stop.

A four way flashing yellow is a Dept Of Transportation issue as THAT should NEVER happen... its always either a four way flashing red... or a flashing yellow on the main roadway in conjunction with a flashing red on the secondary street.

If you didn't tell them, don't tell them now.. Even though she CLAIMED fault, she might not have been. You're evidently claiming you're NOT at fault because you had a green light... But, smoothy is correct.. You CAN'T have a green light, while the other direction has a blinking yellow. That means BOTH directions can enter the intersection, and we KNOW that ain't what happened.

So, I'd make a claim on the insurance company of the person who said she was at fault.. They'll investigate and if THEY determine she was at fault, they'll pay. If not, they won't.

But, at THIS point, the cops don't have anything to do with it anymore. That would be unless you got a ticket. But, that's a different matter.

Many things, first she may have decided she was not at fault after she left the scene,

Next you would not have a green light in one direction and a flashing yellow in the other, that is not a combinatoin that is ever used in any state I have been.


You not having insurance has no bearing on your ability to sue her, or to make a claim against her insurance.

The police may be getting statements anew if she hired an attorney and is going to fight the ticket, Or if her insurance company is going to fight the ticket.

The main thing, make sure you are not found at fault, and don't tell them about you not having insurance, do not help them find tings out about you
