Is it possible there's a ghost in my house?
There's definitely some degree paranoia involved here, but I still think I should explore the possibility. A few days ago, I asked my oldest sister if she believed in ghosts, more on a whim than anything. Without a hint of humor she replied yes, and then went on to say she used to get creeped out in my room, formerly hers. She said that she heard someone talking to her, as clear as day. However, she refused to tell me what they said, insisting that I didn't want to know. I know that sounds fishy, but she seemed dead serious and she's not the type to lie.
You're probably thinking, if that's the case, why haven't I heard it? I'm always being told that something happened during the night, like "You went bed before everyone else, so we came in and jumped on you. You got really mad, don't you remember?" Nope. I often find evidence that I've been awake in the night, glasses of water, drawings or writings. I never remember.
The night before last, being a little creeped, I shared my twin sister's bed. In the morning she told me that during the night she woke up to me snoring, and she heard a voice repeatingsomething she couldn't discern. Because she said it was repeated, I assumed I was just making some sort of whistling sound between snores.
Last night, after stealing the blanket off her bed, I fell asleep on the recliner. Tired, she just went to sleep in my bed. The next morning she told me she'd heard the voice again. She described it as being feminine or childish. She said it repeated three phrases, all of which began with "you". The first, she said, was distinct:"you take care". She also said that the door, which she had left open, was shut in the morning, with no one to shut it. I've often noticed that as well.
I figure this is more our imagination than anything. How do I make sure, though? Should I try to make contact?
(P.s. our house isn't that old, but the property is. The old house that was here and that we tore down was ancient and dilapidated, and I know, that at least two people, the elderly former owners died there.)
