    Help my dog is restless
    I have a maltese ****zu x he has just started to pat and is very unsettle. He is constantly rubbing and licking his bum. At times he will yelp or whipper as if in pain not sure what's wrong. We have 2 other dogs of the same breed and nothing is wrong with them. Please can someone help

    Sounds like it could be anal glands, or even worms. Fleas like to hide in around that area too. Also if he has long hair and any poo stragglers that can pull tiny hairs around his bum which can be quite painful as well. I would take a good look, and if it's not something you can visibly see, it might be time for a trip to the vet or the groomers.

    I agree with Aurora Bell. Your dog could possibly have impacted anal glands that need to be emitted. It's a rather gross process, but both a groomer or vet can do it for you. First look to see if there's any debri surrounding your dog's anus. If there is none, yet your dog is constantly licking, scratching or dragging his bottom on the ground, his/her anal glands probably need to be extracted. Impacted anal glands can range from itchy to down right painful for your dog.
