Replacing light switch with motion sensor
I am trying to replace a single pole electrical light switch with a single pole motion sensing light switch. The problem I'm running into is after replacement of the wiring and placing the new motion sensor in the electrical box, the sensor is too far recessed into the electrical box. As a result, I cannot attach the cover plate because it cannot attach to the sensor because the sheet rock is blocking the cover plate from being able to be close enough to the sensor to screw and attach. Basically, is there a way to move the electrical box forward or is the an accessory that will allow the sensor to be secured tightly to the box but remain more protruded from being flush when screwed to the electrical box.

You want a "box extender" It comes with longer screws.
