So I have been on the deprovera shot for over five years and recently took myself off. My shot was due in November and I decided to not take it anymore. Well I'm stupid and I ended up having unprotected sex and my period still has not come and honestly I have not had a period for about five years so I'm not sure if that is irregular or not, and I also am not sure if I could be pregnant or not since my menstrual cycle has yet to come.

Right firstly if your worried take a test.
Secondly its unlikely you are pregnant depo has one heck of a reputation for taking a long long time to leave the system I took it for 9 years and it took 2 to fall pregnant.
That's not to say you might be you could well be one of the few that fall straight away.

You have every roght to be concerned. As Ben's wife stated above, it is entirely possible that the medication is still in your system, however you could be that one in a few hundred that gets pregnant immediately.

It is probably in your best interest that you seek the advice of your personal doctor. Get a blood test done to determine if you are or are not pregnant.

I have only been on the depo shot for 4 months. I am going off it due to the fact I am gaining weight and felt uncomfortable with myself. Also I never bleed while being on the shot. My next shot is Jan. 17th.

Are there any side effects with going off depo vera ?
