I signed my son's birth cert when he was born 4yrs ago. We have since broken up and his mother is crazy. She is with an abusive boyfriend and on drugs. I did call DCFS, they did an investigation and put everyone is drug and parenting councling. She then moved, and keeps moving. When I start to close in on a location, she moves again. I do not know where my son lives or have anyway to contact them. I pay a lot in child support everyweek, but never get to see my son. Now there are rumors that I may not be father. If I do a paternity test and I am not the father what rights do I have. Also, if I am, how can I get visitation with my son??

Should have gotten a DNA test before you signed it. 4 years later its going to be a LOT harder. What state do you life. Hopefully its not Virginia... because they will make you pay until they reach adulthood even if DNA test prove they aren't yours.

I know two guys sitting in prison in VA (for several years now) for refusing to pay support on children their now ex-wives had with other men during affairs that led to their divorces (DNA tests proved they were not their children).

WOW! No I am in FL thank God! At the time there was no question I thought. Turns out she had been seeing other people she just told me this a few weeks ago.

Was a court order entered after you signed the paternity acknowledgment? Were you awarded visitation with the child?

Outside of the legal aspect of this, let me ask you something: what do you want out of this? Do you WANT to be the child's father or are you looking to cut ties if you are not the biological parent?
