How old are you Michelle? And why would you think it isn't safe? Safe in what way?

First, Please don't use the Comments feature for followups. Use the Answer options instead.

It depends on what you stick up there. There are many appliances that are designed for the purpose that are safe to use.

Oh, and you might not have had sexual intercourse or sexual relations with another person, but masturbation is a form of sexual activity.

I think you may need to learn what 'masturbation' is.

Masturbation is stimulating your own sexual organs (for the female: clitoris, vagina, breasts, etc.-pretty much your entire body) for sexual gratification (for most that means orgasm). Fingers are the usual source of stimulation, but objects such as 'adult toys' can be employed. They DO NOT have to be inserted into the vagina for it to be 'masturbation'. They can be used on the outer parts just as effectively.

Masturbation is a way to learn what you find sexually stimulating both mentally and physically.

It is safe. Keep your hands and toys clean and it is even safer.

Also, please do not use chat speak.

Chat/text speak implies that you are 14 and cannot type like an adult--and this is an ADULT board.

You need to use full words and phrases here.

I would avoid larger items, as it can break your hymen since you are a virgin. And stick to items that will NOT cause infections. If you like other items like food, (veggies and fruits) or other things that are questionable, put a condom around it first.

Food? Wow! I think we should stick to normal approved methods, seeing as the OP is young, unsure of herself and her body, and concerned about safety.

There are many adult toys that aren't even designed to go into your vagina, they're for exterior stimulation only. The fact is, most women don't orgasm from penetration, so sex toys for women usually don't focus on penetration, but stimulating the clitoris instead.

Don't be afraid to explore your body. It's yours, and you shouldn't be scared to figure out what you like, what you don't like, figure out where everything is.

A good rule of thumb. If it hurts, don't do it. If it feels good, than go for it. If you use toys make sure you keep them clean, and make sure you keep yourself clean as well, and you're all set.

No edible products please. Let's leave those in the fridge where they belong. ;)
