If you are in need of help perhaps fixing your car, or with some basic transportation, if you are a vet, have you went to your local vet groups, such as American Legion, VFW for help. Also groups like Catholic Charities can help people in need

Go to your public library's reference department. They'll have a social services directory/list for your area and will help you figure out who can help you. Like Chuck said, the VA might be a good place to start. Area churches might have helping programs for folks with certain needs. Post here again if you come up empty.
