Should a Snowblower impeller move freely w/engine off?
I have a Craftsman 5hp snowblower. Should the impeller move freely when the snowblower is NOT running? Freely meaning I am ble to turn the impeller by hand in either direction.

    Hi ptboy,
Looks like you have a broken shear pin. It looks like a small bolt but is made to break if you hit something hard. It goes through the shaft of the impeller. You will see one on the other side. Make sure you get a shear pin and not a bolt. Hope this helps.

I thought the shear pins were on the auger.. didn't realize the impeller has a shear pin also. Thanks for you help!
