Im 37 weeks pregnant an I'm having really bad pains in my ribs on my right side they come an go but its very painful an its also on the right side of my back is this contractions? Do I need to go to the hospital?

You should notify your doctor right away. They can do a simple test for contractions. You may be having back labor. As with some conditions there is referred pain. ( it appears in other places then where it originates ).

If is has continued, let your doctor know as califdad has said. Might be the start of things. If so, they will let you know when they would want you to head in. Try getting plenty to drink and change your activity. If they subside, it may be braxton hicks contractions, or it may just be baby's positioning that can sometimes cause considerable discomfort, especially in the rib area.
