    Whirlpool Dryer Heats Intermittently
    Hi,
I have a Whirlpool dryer Model# GGQ8858EQ1 that heats intermittently. I will turn on the dryer and the flame turns on but only heats up for 5 minutes then turns off. The dryer then runs the rest of it's cycle with no heat. I have tried replacing the fuse but that didn't solve the problem. I am thinking it might be the thermostat but the part cost around $21 and I cannot return it if is not the problem. I don't think it could be the ignitor because the flame still kicks on. Please advise.

Get a stop watch and actually time how long the flame stays on. Then disconncect the vent hose and time it again. If it stays on longer with the vent disconnected, then you have a restricted vent. A simple try before investing any more money
