Stabbing pain in palm of hand
I have recently been getting annoying twitches in my elbow accompanied with a sharp stabbing pain in the palm of my hand, weakened grip, and a general dull pain in my knuckles (on both hands). Any ideas for causes? I am overweight by 30 lbs. but am very healthy in every other way.

Have you been checked for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

About 6 months ago, the doctor did a few quick tests because at the time I was experiencing numbness and tingling (range of motion, pressure, strength type tests, etc. ) and ruled it out. I kind of felt like I was being wimpy then, and haven't brought it up since. This stabbing pain has just recently begun. It's intermittent and I can't pinpoint a related activity. It's really annoying, but not debilitating, and I am not sure if it should warrant a visit to the doctor. (I'm 38, so a little young for age-related diseases.)

Carpal Tunnel is not an age related condition. I got my first experience with it when I was 28 years old.

I would still go to the doctor and if he cannot pinpoint what is going on, ask for a referral to a neurologist or rheumatologist. What you are experiencing is not the norm.
