Problems with XP firewall and wireless networking
    Hi

I have just set up a wireless network consisting of 3 laptop computers and 1 PC. The PC is connected to the internet and wireless router. When the PC reboots the firewall kicks in and prevents file sharing between the PC and the laptops. The laptops can view and access each others files but cannot access the PC through workgroup computers. The laptops do have access to the internet through the PC, this section at least seems to be working fine.

If the PC is not turned off at all the laptops can all come and go from the network as they wish. However the second the PC is turned off I have to reset the network by turning firewall off and on. Is there anyway I can have the firewall on but still be able to turn of the PC. Or alternatively can I purchase a different firewall (non-XP) that will not affect the networked computers in this way?

    Hmm from what I understand..

You have 1 Desktop Machine that you have set up to Share your internet to your laptops.
And you want a way to keep sharing the internet when you turn off your Desktop PC to your laptops.

What you need to do in this case is get a wireless+DSL+Router..
