I have a 1988 Nissan Pathfinder and my key won't unlock the door, I don't know the reason why,anyone know what I can do?

Is it winter where you are? Try warm oil from your dipstick put on the key and wiggled around in the lock. You can buy little cans of spray de-icer or WD40. A car that age should have that done once in a while anyway. Hopefully it isn't too rusted already.

Well the lock is able to move around but when I looked at it, it looks like it is just out of place but thanks the answer. I'm in Oregon so yes it is cold here during the winter

I can't figure out how to open my rear hatch. When I first got this truck is was janky and I had to use pliers to open it because it had no handle. Then one of the latches slipped and even though I can move the piece it is supposed to connect to I can't figure out how to open the damn thing. Of course, now I have to replace the entire lock and latch system. But how do I do that without being able to open the hatch in the first place?
