How would a probation officer know if you left the jurisdication
Hello p:
I don't know. Lot's of ways, if he wants to know.. He could put a GPS on your car. He could track all the plane, train and bus tickets. He could track your cell phone. He could go to your work. He could ask your neighbor. He could ask YOU. He could follow you.
You could have gotten a ticket while you were gone. You could have gotten arrested for something while you were gone... You could have your passport stamped... Somebody could have snitched on you...
Or, he might not find out. It would be easier, of course, to get a travel permit.. They give 'em out like candy.

By you not checking in or by checking up on you unannounced. By investigating further if there is suspicion or hearsay that you left, using police if they want.
You go to a Sport event and your face is shown on TV
But normally what happens, a friend, an ex boy or girl friend, or someone who gets mad at you, tells on you.
