Have you every heard if a two-year lease for a private home?
My Landlord sent me the renewal letter for the lease indicated that the lease will be for two years and he's going up to 1800 a month. I think that this is nothing but retaliation because I wouldn't give him my personal PSE&G account number for him to use to get a rebate. Further I was without heat for six days sick as well as everyone else in the home and he didn't take off anything my rent. I will not sign a two year lease, without knowing my financial status for the next two years, and if for some reason cannot afford to make my rental payments he can sue me and put it on my credit report.

You can have a 100 year lease as long as 2 legally eligible people sign it and it doesn't contradict state law. A 2 year lease is surprisingly common. On the plus side, your rent doesn't go up for 2 years.

Yes many people would jump at a 2 year lease to secure the price.

But yes, they may require any thing they want in the lease and can non renew if you don't sign
