Hi there I have seen couple of posting on this subject and I understand that f1 student can be on 1099 but I am CPT so wanted to confirm if I can be on 1099 also I am looking for a person who can give me directions and help me file my taxes on time for the first time.

OPT and CPT are similar employment conditions, so, yes, the F-1 student CAN be employed under Form 1099-MISC.

You will need to file Form 1040NR with a Schedule C and Form 8843. Keep track of all expenses incurred while under CPT.
