    vitamin suppliments for acne
Hey I have trouble with acne. I break out especially around my period. Anyway, what kind of vitamin supplements should I take that would help with my acne? I have a lot of bumps, blackheads, and a few whiteheads. Thanks for your help!

All vitamins. Good foods, fresh vegetables, low fats except healthy fresh oils like olive, low sugar.
A is very good for skin but don't take more than the daily max. E in it's NATURAL form. C, all the Bs.

You probably have large pores and lots of body oil. That means wash lots and wash gently, tons of warm water to open those pores, and THEN scrub out those blackheads and whiteheads. Do not wear makeup and do not use creams and lotions, except those especially for oily skin, if at all.

Topical cleansers for the acne. (I don't know the brands out there since I was young and all there was was Noxema.)

I have tried a lot of creams and cleansers. They irritate my skin, and id like to try pill form now... and I am wondering there are recommended vitamins that will make a difference.

I had bad acne breakouts when I was younger and I tried an herbal medication called Neem. My dad bought it for me, but I'm not sure where he got it from. I think the type of herb is called Neem and there are probably a couple different brands. I'm pretty sure it is an Indian herbal drug and you can probably find one online. It cleared up my skin a lot and now I just use Olay cream cleansers.

There is also a presicription drug called Acutane that is used for treating acne, but it has a lot of side effects and you need a precription from a doctor for it.

I recommend taking a multivitamin that has all types of vitamins. Vitamins C and E are also good for your skin.

My son took two tabs of 22 mg each of zinc gluconate in the morning and two in the evening, then increased to six per day, three times a day. He noticed good results already during the first three months.
