With that said, it takes about 30 days for the birth control pill to be effective. After 2 days you are not provided protection from pregnancy.

Also, remember that the pill is not 100% effective. There is still a risk, however small, of pregnancy even if you take the pills exactly as prescribed. Two or three methods of birth control combined significantly reduce the risk of pregnancy.
