But now I am totally uncomfortable with it and want to change it back to light brown or dark brown. Can I do this at home? How long will it take to wash off? Can the salon fix it back in a day?

It's easy to dye hair darker with a kit from the drugstore. Then just let the bleach job grow out.

You might want to consider going to the salon but if you don't want to then you could buy the dye and read how long it will take tell wash out. Some take thrity minutes and others may be different. A salon most likely can fix it in a couple hours, hey you can ask them how long, Goodluck! :)
