    How do I collect social security for two monor children living in dekalb county Georgia snd the non custodial parent who owes child support for them and has been arrested for child abandonment (non-payment of child support) and they still collect social security?

    What kind are they collecting? SSD or SSi?

    If the NCP has limited income, then you will have a problem collecting. If GA can't collect what they owe you are out of luck.

    Depending on what SS program they are collecting on, your children may also be entitled to receive a stipend from SS. But that is different from child support.

    She receives the kind of that pays for mental illness and has been receiving it for 8 years and she is behind thousands of dollars in c/s. she has been formally charged with on the child abandonment case. No date has been scheduled as of this writing.

    The question should actually read "How do I collect social security for two monor children living in dekalb county georgia WHEREAS the non custodial parent who owes BACK child support for them and has been arrested for child abandonment (non-payment of child support) CAN they still collect social security?"
