I worked for a company for a month. We handled cash transactions in my office, two of us. I had one of the buyers ask me to check a price on an invoice. I opened the invoice the price was correct and he told me to ready it for cashier. I paid it out the next morning to cash the girl I work with got cash to envelope ready. I had calledthe buyer on the invoice, got it out of the drawer. This was 15 days ago. I left that day puttin my coupon envelope in my bag. They now are saying I stole the money envelope and the camera shows me leaving with an envelope. They said that I had 24 hours to pay the money back or they were having me arrested? Can they have me arrested if they didn't see me leave with that money? It wasn't that envelope and the cameras must not be of good clairity. I'm not paying or admitting to anything I didn't do

If they follow through on the arrest, you would go to the police station and give a statement and the police would review the tape and employer's statement. The DA's office would decide if there is enough evidence to charge you. What happens after that will depend - possibly a night in jail and a morning appearance before a judge for a minute or two, with a court date set for the future, and release until then.
A key question is whether the tape covers the entire time you were working (I'll bet it does) to see you actually moving cash into an envelope that you then took.

They may of course call the police,

As noted they will look at the tape, and if they believe it has value, they will call you in to question you.

If and how they may arrest varies by state and the requirements for an arrest for a reported crime.

But the DA will make the final call if they press charges.

If the police call you in, don't go without an attorney.

2. they may tell you just to confess and you can go home and make arrangements to pay, ** this is of course a lie to merely get you to confess.

Even if the police called me in, I WOULD NOT GO. I would NEVER give a 'em statement...

But, that's just me. In my view, you have NOTHING to gain, and EVERYTHING to lose by talking to the cops... Yeah, yeah, yeah... If you refuse to go, they'll think you're guilty... Uhhh, so what? The cops ALREADY think you're guilty.
