I've been texting this guy for a few months now but I don't know where I stand with him, were really similar and like the same things, were both extremely close with our friends and never really get time to see each other alone and he's mentioned about how I'm always with my friends and never see him even though he never usually texts me seeing if I want to do anything or if he does meet me he always has his friends with him. Anyway.. I usually end up bumping in to him when were drunk and he tells me I'm 'beautiful' and is really nice to me.. but he always ends up acting like a school boy and doing silly things, for example the other week he started hugging and being all affectionate to me then pulled me off the bench on to the floor, why does he do things like this? My friends have suggested that maybe he just doesn't know how to act about his feelings and so acts really immature instead with out realising it, I don't know what to do! Does he like me and want a relationship? Or does he just want to sleep with me? Pleeeaaaasssseeee help!

I think he might like you... but if he is drunk a lot I wouldn't know my mom thought my dad did but he was always drunk when they got married he abused her for along time and I hope that that wouldn't happen to you maybe you should just talk to him about it I am told guys like girls with confidence

No one knows their true feelings when they have been drinking. It changes the personality. Gives false self confidence. False everything. It is usually called 'courage in a bottle'. If you want that kind of relationship, go for it.

He sounds to me like he could be afraid of rejection because when he's around you he has his boys close. I mean little red flag like that PLUS he drinks and gets (what tickle referred to as "courage in a bottle") is also showing that he interacts with you when he's drunk, perhaps not so much when he's not. And the whole "he started hugging and being all affectionate to me then pulled me off the bench on to the floor" sounds really immature to me. Even tipsy/drunk he still doesn't act as if he knows how to treat a girl when he has some courage.

Why wouldn't you want a boyfriend that is more mature? He may be cute and so forth but how a person looks CAN'T be all that there is that makes you want to date him. How about dating someone that knows how to treat a girl too? Hold out for a better quality of boyfriend... this one is isn't worth it. Xo

I'm 17 so I'm not desperate for a boyfriend I was just kind of hoping that this guy would lead somewhere unlike all the other guys, it seems that he is immature and doesn't know how to act around me which kind of sucks :/

No I didn't think that you meant that he was ALWAYS drunk lol. :D I just think no matter how cute he is there has GOT to be a boy out there that doesn't act like an immature child around you, the way he was acting.

I'm sure you already know this but girls mature quicker than boys... however by 17 there actually can be some boys out there that show some maturation potential. So don't give up.

My daughter is 17 too and she tends to lean toward dating boys that are older than she is. It's complicated though because since you're 17 and if you date a 19 years old some parents have a problem with that...
