History question about the naming of the month of July
Ok so I know the month July is named after julius Caesar but what I want to know is did julius Caesar himself name it after himself OR did his nephew agustus name it after him in honour of his beloved uncle/ruler. And if you do know the answer weather its an opinion or not can you list a place of proof or something like a website or book because I want proof to prove to my friend. Thanks

    August—History of the Month's Origin — Infoplease.com

July was named after Julius Caesar by the Roman Senate and NOT his nephew.

Actually it was first named Quintilis in Latin, since it was the 5th month on the Roman calender. Then Augustus changed it to July to honor Caesar after adopting Gregorian calender in 44BC.
