    Adoption without mother consent?
I have a friend baby girl living with me she's 8 months old, my friend baby father passed away and she's incarcerated & serving the REST of her sentence (w/3 cts of child abuse PREVENTING her from VISITATION w/her OTHER 2 boys!).I don't know how long she's in jail for but it's for a few years the baby is living with me, I want to know how can I go about adoption the baby without the mother consent? And how to start go about it?

    Reynaldo,

I moved your question from the adoption boards so that you could get more and better help. My post was simply to let OTHERS know that you had originally posted it elsewhere.

And frankly, you can't. You need a LAWYER, because in order for a termination of parental rights to go through WITHOUT the parent's consent, you have to PROVE that they are an unfit parent--and jail isn't always enough.

We don't know what state you're in. We don't know whether you are single or married (and yes, that DOES matter). We don't know how YOU got guardianship to begin with. We don't know what LEGAL loops you have been through to begin with.

How about stop being so ANGRY? Calm down! We're all volunteers here, and sometimes you have to wait to get some help.

And frankly, your attitude isn't going to get you a lot of sympathetic people.

Yes, first how do you have the child in the fist place, were you awarded guardianship though the courts, did children's services place the child with you. Where is her other family and are they involved
