My kitten has bloody stringy mucus in his stool?
My kitten got treated for round worm and tape worm at home and I'm wondering if it could be dead worms coming out. He is still hyper and playing and gaining weight and there is no blood in his pee. He is eating like he should and drinking water. The blood now has stringy mucus and bright red blood. I have to wipe his butt almost all the time and pull the blood and mucus out and there is blood around his butt too with the stringy mucus. What could it be. I worried about it. I have a vet appointment for the 7th of Jan 2011.

Is there an emergency vet clinic nearby?

My kitten just passed a stool and it had no blood or mucus in it. I talked to my cousin just a hour ago and he said it was most likely a dead worm and they will be dead when they pass in his stool. And that I should not worry about unless he stops eating and loses energy. He said I will know when he gets sick because he will not be like a normal kitten. But he is running around and eating just fine and too it could be that I switched his food too. I started him on some wet food and he said that when you switch food it could cause runny and some times bloody mucus in the stool. But that I should keep a eye on it and if he starts to bleed and does not stop I will have too bring him too emergency vet and have him checked for a parasite that can cause death. But he said that if I bring him in on the 7th of Jan and talk too them while they give him shots they can test his stool then. Thank you.

Only problem I have is that I have no money for a vet until the 7th of Jan 2011. And my cousin who works for a vet said it sounded like it was a dead worm he passed and that is good and there will be more like that and too not worry.

You bash me with a "reddie" for suggesting you take the cat to a vet before the 7th? I didn't know you have no money now.
