Replacing the water valve for my shower/tub.
Current line comes out of the wall, branches off using a tee, running up to the 2nd floor. The other run out of this tee goes to the current water valve. Seems like too many elbows and extra pipe. Can I not simply install new valve in a simple H configuration with the valve being the vertical center of this H? Each vertical leg of this H is the water source (hot and cold). I have not mentioned shower or tub lines because at this time, I don't think it's necessary.

Tried to attach a pdf that shows current and desired layouts. Not sure if attachment was successful.

    Hi BIMC...

I don't see why not. In fact, I don't see your attachment either... :p

See if you can repost the pic. And I'll try to help more, OK?
