    Please help explain this simple equation to me

    Solve for x

    -x + 6 = 11

    simple!

    -x + 6 = 11
    -x = 11 - 6
    -x = 5
    x = -5

    check plug x back into original equation
    -x+6=11
    -(-5) + 6 =11
    5 + 6 = 11
    11 = 11

    Two steps:

    1. subtract 6 from both sides

    2. divide both sides by -1
