So I just found out today that I'm almost 3 weeks pregnant. I'm wondering how I missed my period last month if I got pregnant the week my period was suppose to start. I thought that I could only get pregnant during ovulation. I also want to know why I missed last month. Is that mormal?

My period was on a 37-39 day cycle

It seems that you most likely got pregnant on or around November 2.

Did your doctor tell you that you were only 3 weeks? I see that you are a little over 8 weeks pregnant.

Have you had an ultrasound? 3 weeks is really very early to detect pregnancy.

My doctor actually told me that I am 4 weeks n 4 days but he explained something about the first 2 weeks is not an actual pregnancy(in my own words)... my conception date was November 13, 2010.

According to him I got pregnant somtime before novembers period. That's why it didn't come.

There can be many reasons for a missed period other than pregnancy. The most common is stress but it can also be things like an overactive thyroid. See here for reasons for missing a period .
