The plot in this movie is very similar to the movie "Treasure Planet", both are animation movies, the movie came out I think between 1994 and 2002 not sure, I thought it was a disney movie but didn't find it in any category.
It starts with a young boy that have to leave the planet earth, later he's an adult and "work" up in the space, later he have to run from there and save something, the universe I think, he has a map or something in his one hand.
