I meet a guy on line over year ago. He lives in New York and I live in Toronto Canada. We spend most of our time on line then exchanged numbers and we were getting along perfectly. I started giving him gifts but nothing in return but that isn't a problem. I decided to go at New York one day for some stupid reason I wasn't able to get into USA for something that happen so many years ago. I was really sad because I really wanted to meet him in person. I came back home and I told him that I was sorry and wasn't able to pass the border. He isn't able to pass the border from the states to Canada for something he did. I have asked him I am willing to pay for a flight and hotel so we both can meet but he refused because of his stroke that he had. Now I really want to meet him I feel that I am in love with him I'm doing all the best to help him but I feel deep down that he don't want to meet and he is trying to play games. Can anyone give me advice what to do?

Listen to your instincts. If you think he is playing games then he most likely is.

Remember talk is cheap. He can tell you anything he wants and because your just a net buddy how can you really know the truth?

I would back off and chalk this one up to experience.

How about going out and meeting people the old fashioned way?

How do you know he's not fooling around? Its dangerous specially that you're a girl! There are cases that its not, but in most cases, it is!

What does THAT mean? Help him with what? I sure hope you aren't sending him money. Either you can cross the border or you can't, each of you, so what's with this flight and a hotel?
You don't know anything about him, period. He could be happily married. He could be 18 or 80 and using someone else's picture. He could be just looking for diversion online. He could be a felon on house arrest or in a halfway house. He could be into stuff you have no idea about, from the weird to the sadistic to murder. He might have had a stroke or not, might be able to leave the US or not. NEVER believe anything online.

For whatever reason this ain't going to work beyond chat buddies, so get some real friends for fun, romance, or just grand time.
