Hi, I have a 1y/o girl, whom I think is infected with rat droppings from the garage, she has been having high fever for a couple of days with no help from medicines. A doctors visit ended with antibodies but I see no difference, we went to another doc. Told her about my concern she said rats and mice have no effect what so ever on us. Other symptoms she has diahria, fever, no willingness to eat nor drink, cramps, but no vommiting. I would like to make tests for her just to cancle out anything elated to rats, what would they be? Thank you

Not eating, not drinking and cramps are signs and symptoms of a something serious going on with your little girl. I can't see how at l year old she would be near a garage to be infected with rodent feces. There are no tests you can use to find out, but while you are thinking about it, your little girl could be becoming more ill by the minute. Dehydration in one so young is lethal. I suggest you get a better pediatrician who can diagnose the underlying cause of her ailment.

I have read your other posts, you state you are over 60 and have had a hysterectomy. How is you have come to have a one year old girl?

Antibiotics for all the typical signs of an intestinal virus which so far has been a couple of days? That makes no sense. The doctor sounds like he was just trying to appease your notion that this was bacterial. You should not be giving a 1 year old medicines so quickly without the usual treatment for stomach virus, which is clear liquids and rest and warmth. A bit of anti-diarrheal maybe. You don't EAT when you have a virus so she is doing what is natural.
Rat or mice feces would have to be in the water supply or she'd have to be eating it.
Before renovating my parents' house, I lived around so much feces it was 2" deep in places and stank to high heaven when opening hidden areas. I didn't get sick.

I live in south africa, and this is a rented house to get the full picture, I was clearing and cleaning and its only myself whose doing it, my daughter was fed up with the chair so I let her free, while I was cleaning I saw droppings in one place but did not take much thaught of it cause I was going to clean the place, but after that evening she starting showing signs of fever, so I gave her panadol for kids, by the next day 4pm I had the doc. visit,cause diaria started and he gave antibiotics I think for the diaria and pain and fever relief, also the nausia medic. But she wasn't and still isn't nausios. Its only the fever that doesn't want to go down and the diaria well we'll see I a few hours she just ate cucumber. So this morning we took her to another doc. So she gave her something for the cramps and prebiotics


Isn't the symptoms of rat or mice urine or droppings harmfull? The doct. Said noooo noooo its only dogs and cats... that kept me wondering


The docs here either give so many medications, or nothing at all when it is really needed

Yes, everything you said plus 'miasma' air that lays around at ground level is just as dangerous as anything else. It is the byproduct of putrefication of feces and anything else disgusting.

Till now no one has given me a straight answer, but we did have some stool tests just to be sure, and it turned out to be all OK, she just needs to take a prebiotic. All the comments did not help me much, since it is my 1y/o and I really needed some urgent advise to my question. But anyway thank you for your time.

Sorry you were disappointed but we cannot diagnose on AMHD for obvious reasons. I think you got helped as much as possible.
