Concrete removed from garage floor to reach waste pipe
We are having concrete removed from garage floor, and expect to refill it ourselves after plumber does his work. In Long Is NY, in a home only 6 yrs old, what can we expect to have to do? We will see what comes out of floor, but need a heads up on what to expect our work to be... are we taking on too much? Masonry guy says hole will be 24"+ deep so plumber can join up new toilet waste pipe. 4" pipe runs right by closet (site of planned new half bath), about 2 - 2 1/2 ' away from closet door, according to house plans. It runs straight to clean out pit in garage, but the connection will occur close to the closet. We don't know if concrete holds rebar or wire mesh, yet. Price doubles if masonry guy comes back to refill concrete... thus our intention to make it a diy project.
