A firend of mine was arrested for probation violaton and new charges added. He is in jail with no bond for the violation, but has a bond for the new charges. HIs attorney is asking for a true bill to combine the new charges with the violation. He has been in jail since the 18th of November. The DA decided not to make a decision and he will reamain in jail until 6 of January. What do you think will happen? Or can anyone comment on this?

Even if he could post the bail in the second charge he's not getting out of jail as he is being held for his VOP hearing. He's going to be there for sometime in jail.

They will seldom allow a person out of probation violation on bail. They will allow bail on the new charges.

What is the time frame for the VOP hearing, normlaly they will stay in jail till then
