    Trying to conceive
I have been trying to conceive for the last 5 months. Nothing seems to be working for me and my fiancé. When I was 17, I got on birth control. I was on it for 9 months and now it seems impossible for me to get pregnant. I got my last shot in May, and in August I was supposed to go back and get my shot but I didn't. My 19 year old boyfriend are both emotionally and physically ready for a child. We feel as though it will bridge a missing gap in our life since my mother and his grandmother died in the same week!! Please if you have any answers help us out! Also, December 25, my period was on and we had sex. Right after that my period went off. So, hopefully, I am pregnant. Please, All feedback is welcome and greatly appreciated! :) :) :)

Well if the two of you have been trying for 5 months now and nothing has happened you should probably consult our OBGyn and tell her your situation. That way they can test the two of you and see if there are any complications. Well good luck. Have you thought about getting married as well?

Let me begin by saying how sorry I am for your losses. It must have been terrible to deal with.

Now, also let me say that a baby will not necessarily fill the void of these losses. It will just take up your time so that you don't think about it so much.

Now, you may be physically ready to have children, but we never really know if we are emotionally ready until they get here. Believe me, I had 4 kiddos, the first at age 22. Also, are you financially ready? That is probably the biggest question. Do you have any idea how much they cost? With formula, diapers, baby food, new clothes every 6 weeks or so, doctor's visits for well-baby check ups as well as when the get sick, vaccinations, day care, I could go on and on.

This is really something to think about since you are not yet married. Babies and finances that come along with them can cause some tremendous pressure in relationships. Once a couple is not married it is easier (and cheaper) to walk away from the situation leaving one person, usually the woman but not always, a single parent.

With all that said you have to have sex when you are ovulating which is approximately 11 - 16 days after the first day of your last period. This is for the average 28 day cycle. Once you start your period, the egg is no longer viable for conception.

    Just some food for thought.;)

Sometimes when your on birth control for so long it takes a while for your body to get right again, and you can't feel alone there are lots of people who can't conceive, my own sister in law she had 2 kids and then got pregnant again and had an conceive pregnancy and they had to take one of her Fallopian tubes and she couldn't get pregnant again the doctors told her but 1 year later we have a new baby. So just wait a little bit. Hopefully you are pregnant

How long ago were you on the shot? The shot is rough on the body. It can take up to 18 months to get pregnant again. It was around 18 months exactly when I finally got pregnant again, after having only been on the shot for 6 months. I would go to the doc, have an exam to make sure everything is good to go, and then just keep it up. Don't stress, as this can actually jinx your goal, and make it harder to get pregnant. Just relax, and enjoy being together with your significant other. When the time is right, and your body is ready, it will happen. ( I know, I hated that answer too. But it's true) good luck, and keep us posted
