I was wondering how I would get into solitary confinement like the ADX supermax prison in Colorado without doing anything illegal, or is there a place to go to like that where you can get 3 meals a day and bed for free, with the solitary confinement part.

I know I can just rob a bank and get sent to prision, but I am afraid that it will be a regular prison. Can I talk with the DA or a judge or something and get sent there? Or is the only way to get there to break the law? Can I get sent there for just threatening to break the law?

And your reason is what exactly? There has to be a why... its expensive to house prisoners... they aren't going to put non-offenders there, and from what you have said... that appears to be the case.

So hypothetically what would you need to do to get sent there? For example, what jurisdiction would you need to be in, what crimes would you have to commit, and so on. (This is strictly an educational question).

Forgot to add if someone said that if they didn't put them in solitary confinement for the rest of their life, they would do whatever it took to do it, to a judge for instance. Would that place the responsibility of what that individual did on the state?

You're not listening.

You can't request to be put anywhere. As a criminal you're put where the system see's fit. To get solitary they need to have a reason:

"punishment....protection (as in protective custody IN the prison) or control of someone that puts everyone else at risk."

For example:
Some Joe Blow off the street can't rob a bank and then ask to be put in solitary. He'll be put where the jail/prison see's fit unless there's reason to put you there!


Jurisdiction and crime have nothing to do with solitary. They'll put you in GP unless given a reason not to.

I was just wondering if you can prevent a crime from being committed by doing what your going to do anyway if the person commits the crime why not just do it? I guess it's more of a moral/ethical question that a criminal law question.

However, since I am considering the best way for myself to get into solitary confinement with this "educational knowledge", it seems I am going to have to break some federal law then kill some guards or something. The only thing I am perplexed about is why would I have to do something that I said I was going to do, instead of people being able to take me on my word alone that if I have any contact with anyone then I will cause harm.

I don't know seems kind of screwed up to me/

In THIS country, you have to DO something to get sent to prison - not SAY you're going to do something... If we did that, there would be NOBODY left outside.

Talking about committing a crime won't get you there either. It'll land you in the psych ward...

Before anybody gets sent to a prison that you would like to go to they first must be in prison already and do something really bad like escape (or try to) or kill another inmate or guard, etc. You just can't go up to a Judge and ask him "Hey Judgie can I be sent to SuperMax because I think it would be neat to go there". Maybe in he movies or on TV but definitely NOT in real life.

Yea neat is not how I would describe it, however, to protect the public and myself from myself I think it would be a great idea. I don't necessarily think it would be fun or neat or that I would like it. I think I would hate it. However, I think it's the most responsible thing that I could do, I think it's where I belong and I hope I can convince other people of this as well without having to do anything illegal. I might end up either intentionally or unintentionally hurting myself or someone else and I would like to prevent that from happening.

All prisons have "lock down' and if you are a threat to yourself, they have mental health wings in most prisons, or special prison for mental health.

I have been committed involuntarily to a mental health facility, very depressing place. I would never go back there, I would rather be treated like a criminal and be put in a super max prison than go back to a hospital. That is the whole point of this thread. Now, in answer to your original question, if you feel you will hurt someone, you could take a trip to afghanistan and find an al qaeda training camp, train (feel free to commit crimes there) then return to the US and turn yourself in. When you explain that you have given aid and comfort to the enemy you would be a candidate for federal prison and potentially a sumermax facility.
