Hey there,

When I was younger I saw a movie about these kids running away from adults in a desert world. The movie was futuristic and the adults were some kind of future government. They had this machine that they strapped people into lying down and they person would see their worst fears happening (I think one guy had thousands of ants crawling all over him in one scene). The movie was definitely a older one, probably 80's or early 90's.

I know the description is vague but that is all I can remember.
