    No. All he does is measure my stomach and listen to the heartbeat and send me on my way. I've been told by numerous people that that's not typical especially at 38 weeks

    Idk but maybe since you are almost due he just decided not to but yah I geuss that is pretty strange
    Hope everything goes well and you and the baby are OK though

    It's actually pretty common. Particularly if this is your first baby.

    You see, by checking your cervix we can stimulate the production of oxytocin and risk putting you into early labor.

    Unless there is reason to, i.e. blood pressure issues, gestational diabetes, etc. there is little need to do a cervical check.
