    RE: Texas Real Estate Law
I moved in apt w/friend in Sept. I pay rent directly to landlord but am not on the lease. Can he evict me with 24hr verbal notice and no reason. I was told to move out tomorrow [rent is paid for the month]

Is your friend on the lease or is there no lease at all. With no lease you are considered a month to month tenant. You must give 30 days notice prior to leaving and so does he.

My friend is on the lease. I don't know if she is month to month or not

This is unusual for your friend to be on the lease and you pay the LL directly. Unless your friends lease specifies only he/she can live there and no others then you can not be booted out. Do you know the terms of the lease regarding number of occupants? Also, if the LL has accepted rent from you directly he has establsihed a month to moth rental with you and must give 30 days notice to terminate it
