About a little girl who's parents are really strict, locked in her room a lot of the time, there are some kind of creatures inside the walls? She can hear them running around inside the walls and she speaks to them. Getting in more and more trouble?? Anyone know what I'm waffling on about!?

Would it possibly be the Littles? It was a series of books and shows and/or movies I think (I only remember the books) with mouse-sized people with tails that lived in walls.
