Outlook 2003. Sending emails to multiple recipients!
    My question is this.

I have someone who wants to send email to multiple people. She wants each of them to only see that they received the email and not all of the other addressee's too.

She could just BCC but doesn't want to isn't there a way to do this?

    Ie: I send an email to person A, B, C & D.

When person A looks at it, it looks like they were the only ones who received it. Not knowing Person B, C & D did as well.

    P.S. It's Outlook 2003

First off before anyone says BCC I will let you know that it is not what I'm looking for.

When you Blind Carbon Copy multiple people into an email. When they receive it the to: line is empty (which makes sense)

I want the email to seem like it was specific to them and not part of a cattle call email. I am looking into mail merge right now wondering if this is the way I have to go?

I don't think you can personalise it, at least not without a professional mailer application.

One option though, is to put "Dear Customer" or something similar in the To: field, and BCC all the genuine recipients. When the email sends, it will get bounced back as such as the address in the To field does not exist, but it will still appear to all the recipients in the BCC fields.

Outlook may not let you send the email, saying that "Dear customer" or whatever is not a valid email address. If this does happen, just add a new contact. I have tested this, and added a contact as follows:

    Full Name: Nobody
    Email: [email protected]
    Display As: Dear Customer

I BCC'd myself into the email, and did receive it with "Dear Customer" as the To: address.

    Not perfect, but it works.

I appreciate your response but this thread was solved.

Microsoft Mail Merge does exactly what I wanted. Thanks Again!
