I recently sprouted some pine tree seeds which did very well for several weeks even after I separated them into separate containers. Now, about half of them are folding over at the top as though they are drying out and curling up. I've been careful to keep them moist and give them sunshine. They're only about 2 inches tall and are kept inside the house. Any suggestions as to what's wrong?

I've seen a high mortality rate over three years on bare root seedlings purchased in bulk (bought and planted at one time) from the state forestry service.

I think many that sprout just aren't capable of surviving to maurity for any number or reasons.

But I'm subscribed to this thread as I'm curious as well as how to improve survivability. Its far cheaper than buying 6 foot tall trees for planting.
