I am a muslim I believe in allah m muhammad (saw) as his messenger.But when I ask my muslim friends that why do you all go to mazaar when it is clearly mentioned in hadith that there should be no permanent grave of anyone .but the reply I get from them is they it is written in sunni hadith that gents can go.so my question is which hadith is to be followed why are there different kind of hadith which makes us confused?

Islam Question and Answer - Conditions of a saheeh (sound) hadeeth

Six authentic hadeeth books are-
1. Sahih bukhari
2. Sahih muslim
3. Sunan At-tirmidhi
4. Sunan an-Nasa'i
5. Sunan Abu Dawud
6. Sunan Ibn-Majah

These books are well known as "saha sittah".

First I want to ask a question. Are we complete or a prophet? The answer obviously a prophet He talks with Allah and would never do what Allah dislikes. So a question arises from this verse in Holy Quran.:Surah Namal 39-41He said (to his own men): "Ye chiefs! which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"
This is the story of Hazrat Sulaiman when he asked his servants like jinns and others for bringing the throne of a cruel lady queen.
Said an 'Ifrit, of the Jinns: "I will bring it to thee before thou rise from thy council: indeed I have full strength for the purpose, and may be trusted."
Said one who had knowledge of the Book: "I will bring it to thee within the twinkling of an eye!" Then when (Solomon) saw it placed firmly before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord!- to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! and if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is (a gain) for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is Free of all Needs, Supreme in Honour !"
So Why did prophet Solaiman asked his slaves and not Allah?
Fear Allah and find a wasila to him (5:35)
“There is no objection in making tawassul to God by means of the dignity (jah) and prime position of the Prophet (s), whether it is in his lifetime or after his death, since dignity here refers to an attribute which is one of the attributes of Almighty Allah…tawassul by means of dignity of a person other than the Prophet (s) is also permissible, provided that the one who is being considered a wasilah has a station and position of dignity in the sight of Allah.

It has been narrated in Sahih al Bukhari by Anas, “Whenever drought threatened them, 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, used to ask Al-Abbas bin 'Abdul Muttalib to invoke Allah for rain. He used to say
"O Allah! We used to ask our Prophet to invoke You for rain, and You would bless us with rain, and now we ask his uncle to invoke You for rain. O Allah ! Bless us with rain." And so it would rain.

@blueferry I read your post and went inside the site which u posted. Let me try to clear your mind on it. Ziarat is an arabic word which means "Visits". Ok now, lets begin. The frist hadith which you provided is meant to be for christians and Jewish let me define for you how. It said... but he was afraid it might be taken (as a) place of worship. Here Prophet PBUH was afraid that people might begin to worship him as Christians and Jewish did with the other Prophets of Allah. Where in the hadith says that don't come and visit my grave. As a child I always go and visit my grand father and father's grave and pray to Allah for their forgivness and happy life over there with their true Master. The second Hadith is also the same, a rightouse man amongst the Jewish is nothing in front of a Muslim believer, as Jewish are the worst and open enemy of Islam. I hope you will not try to compare Ali (a.s) with the rightouse people of Jewish. The Third hadith states that... Those who came before you used to take the graves of their Prophets and righteous men as places of worship, but you must not take graves as places of worship;... Those who came before us. Who they were? Jewish and Christians. Are Shia even before chirstians and jewish? The answer is no. Shias don't take the grave as a place of worship but, as a resting place of a great man they build a mosque near that grave and pray. The praying in this mosque will be better as compared to simple mosques built.
REASON:. Doesn't praying in Masjid un Nabawi have more oblation compared to other mosques? The only reason is that because Prophet himself built it. Don't you ask yourself, Nawzubillah , What if he built himself? Its only few rocks and sands. This is because of his purity and inflabillity the rocks and those sands got more value.
The Kahf story. I want to clear it also that, people after their second sleep said we shall build a mosque here. Reason? Those people sleeping inside (or partially dead) are much pure than us.
We created mosque of Imam Reza, Karbala and etc because they were all martyrs much closer to Allah than us and secondly households of Prophet PBUH.
If you are not clear then answer my bellow questions you might get answer yourself.
1) The ziarat of Khalid ibn Waleed built in Syria with his grave inside. Reason?
2) The ziarat of Imam Bukhari built in Turkey with his grave inside. Reason?
3) Certainly, the Almighty Allah has ordered us to consider the place where Ibrahim (a.s.) stood, as a place of worship. Reason? Because The Holy Quran says Appoint for yourselves a place of prayer on the standing-place of Ibrahim.
Whenever you see people praying at the tombs, know that they are engrossed in the worship of Allah. They have not changed their deity. They worship Allah at this place because it is a blessed and purified place. The place is associated with one of the beloved ones of Allah. It is a sign that reminds us of this great personality who is the dweller of this place.
