My son attends a private school in PA (but we live out of state in VA). Recently he got a summons for underage drinking (he was riding in a car with his friend, who made an illegal you turn by mistake... they were stopped by the police and given a breathalyzer test.. the driver had 0.0% and the passenger my son had a .12%. The summons was mailed to his grandparents house in NJ and it stated to pay a fine or appear in court. My son is a sr in H.S and currently going through college application process.. I have researching the internet and seeing a lot of different info on the severity of underage drinking in PA and how it can go on his record and affect his loans etc... or that it may not be a big deal at all and viewed like a "city ordinance" I was hoping someone had some info on this issue and could give me some insight as to what I might expect.. Do I need to contact a lawyer?
